Why should education and intellect be our priority?


I am sure at one point in life, all of us would have asked this question. Why do I have to study? or What is the point of being educated? It is vital to spread the message that education helps them gain maturity and stop raw thinking.
Education tunes the human brain to think in a more refined manner and it helps a person to translate the mind's language into the colloquial language. In the present generation white collar labor has become popular. People are expected to have the capacity to think and express themselves with confidence. Job opportunities of the present generation are mostly given on the basis of intellectual capacity of the person.
Why should your priority always be education?
I have heard people say that they are not much bothered about their academical status as they concentrate more on their hobbies. A person who chooses performing arts as a career may not be the best in his field whereas a person who chooses a intellectual path may be the top in his chosen field. This is because attaining perfection in these knowledge based fields is comparatively much easier than gaining the popularity between people. The economical status of a singer or a dancer may drop down with his age but the fame and respect that a well educated man has will keep on growing along with him. An educated man commands respect and is recognized and respected with no effort. He does not depend upon other people for his earnings or his economical status. And most importantly hobbies must be only for one's own peace of mind and not for earning or to make a living.To give an example, our former President APJ. Abdul Kalam, earned fame only because of his intellect, education and due to his contribution to the field of science. His fame never faded away as he grew old. But, a film star is in limelight only until he or she begins to grow old and gradually he or she fades away from the public eye.
Therefore education and studies should always be of the primary importance and hobbies must be the next.

Let's talk about shopping clothes......

Shopping is something that Mommy loves and Dad hates. Not only because he has to pay the bills, but also because he has to wait while she takes her own sweet time to pick that one thing. Well to be honest I am not the kind of person who jumps with excitement on hearing my Mom say "Ananya, let's go shopping"(If you're wondering, yes I am a girl and I hate shopping. Why the stereotype you little human there?). I do not particularly like leaving my cozy room or my home sweet home and go to a crowded place with women and their bored out husbands, sons and fathers. To the youth of our society.

Dear Readers, The competition in the present generation is making life a struggle. But most of the youth do not seem one bit alarmed or even aware of this serious condition. The position of elders, teachers or even their own parents in their eyes is declining and nowadays it is not surprising if you see a child rebuking his or her parents or teachers. I would like to give an example. The children of my school who travel with me everyday by the school bus often jeer at the pedestrians for no reason and take much joy in throwing paper balls at them and when they are questioned by the bus driver, they throw mocking comments to him with a lot of disrespect. We find no feeling of gratitude in the present generation children at all. They do not realize the efforts  the driver takes to ensure that they reach home safely. We can also find them hurling abusive comments at people who raise a voice against them and children of the present generation do not show even a trace of dignity....
