Let's talk about shopping clothes......
Shopping is something that Mommy loves and Dad hates. Not only because he has to pay the bills, but also because he has to wait while she takes her own sweet time to pick that one thing. Well to be honest I am not the kind of person who jumps with excitement on hearing my Mom say "Ananya, let's go shopping"(If you're wondering, yes I am a girl and I hate shopping. Why the stereotype you little human there?). I do not particularly like leaving my cozy room or my home sweet home and go to a crowded place with women and their bored out husbands, sons and fathers. And yes, I totally hate to wait sitting there as Mom picks and tries on her clothing.
And online shopping has helped so much! They get the most fabulous offers and you just have to touch your smart phone a few times and within a week's time, your product arrives at your doorstep. This saves my precious time so many times. Okay so this was my view and probably the views of many guys reading this.
Now let's see this with Mom's approach. There have been so many times when Mom completely avoids online shopping. And the reason is quite reasonable.
1) You cannot feel the product. Traditional ways of shopping believes in 'Feel the fabric before you buy it' concept. There have been times when the description of the product says something that is completely in contrast to the real product. Feeling the fabric and trying the clothing on helps us to make sure that we are comfortable in the clothing.
2) What if the colour is different! Many a times we order a orange shirt and end up getting a red one. The problem is you cannot see the actual product physically. The colour in the photographs may totally vary from that of the actual product.
3) Returning or exchanging is still hard. Calling the customer care and requesting for a return or exchange can sometimes take a lot of time. Traditional shopping most of the times has a easier procedure of return and exchange.
4) The way it fits you. Well when you try on your clothing in the trial room, you know whether you really are comfortable in it, or how the clothing looks on you. Online products may look really good on the person in the photographs but may not really suit you. It may not really fit you that well or just not look really good.
Though online shopping is convenient and time saving, it has its own disadvantages and cannot beat our love for traditional shopping.
